On Friday August 20th the Hippo GetTogether took place in Amsterdam. Indivirtual's Bas Feenstra gave a short presentation on the Legal & General Hippo project. Compliments to Hippo for organizing such an interesting day full of Hippo people and projects.

Solution for Slow iPhone 3G after upgrading to iOS 4

In many forums people complain about their slow iPhone 3G after upgrading to iOS 4. Also people have mentioned that their iPhone is always hot as if it's running something in the background. This has a huge effect on the battery life. Your battery will be drained in a few hours.

I was one of these people. And I didn't like it at all. My iPhone had heat problems and was painfully slow. My wife's iPhone 3G runs the original software and is very fast and snappy. She never takes the effort to upgrade and it seems to be the better approach. Don't worry: my solution is not that you should never upgrade your iPhone.

What should you do?
Connect your iPhone to your computer.
Run iTunes.
Choose the option restore to factory settings,

This will wipe your iPhone clear and it will be totally empty.

When you sync your iPhone the next time, iTunes will recognize that you still have a backup of the settings on your computer (when you upgraded your iPhone to iOS4, iTunes saved a copy of all settings).  It's safe to restore these settings.

When I did this, my iPhone had it's settings back but does respond like a fresh new iPhone. I've been using it for a few days now after my wiping of the iPhone and the heat problems are gone. Also my battery life is back to normal.

Salesgarant2 is live

Dutch Insurance company Unigarant operates a platform for their partners called Salesgarant. The last year we played a part in creating the new version of this platform. It's based on Quinity and Alterian software and it went live on Monday.

Salesgarant is a business critical application running the whole insurance policy administration including the transactions. Congratulations to Unigarant with the go-live of the 2nd generation Salesgarant.

The role will comprise of about 60% focus on project and account management and 40% on business development/sales. The role will focus on project and account management across multiple clients at a time all mostly based in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, UAE. The candidate should have previous experience in handling digital projects and must be well versed in project and account management.
